Robert J. Couch, 100, passed away Monday November 14, 2011 at his home.
He was born on March 6, 1911 in Sellersburg, IN the son of Perry Claude and Florence Ella Couch.
Mr. Couch was a farmer and a member of Speed Memorial Church. He was member of Clark County Farm Bureau, Clarks Grant Historical Society, charter member of Clark County 4-H Corporation, Clark County Farmer of the Year, Conservation Farmer of the Year and Indiana State 5 Acre Corn Championship Winner.
Survivors include his sons, David Couch(LaVon), Charlestown and James Couch(Pam), Charlestown; daughter, Jeanie Bowen(John), Charlestown; brother, William Couch(JoAnna), Sellersburg; sister, Kathryn Stephens, Russell Springs, KY; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; brother-in-laws, Richard Lewman and Archie Wells; sister-in-laws, Edith Couch, Anita Couch, Mary Ellen Couch and Clara Crum. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife of 73 years Viola L.; son, Gerald and his wife Marie; brothers, Russell, Ernest, Homer and Claude Jr.; sisters, Dorothy Vest, Laura Couch and Pauline Wells.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, November 17, 2011 at the Speed Memorial Church with burial in Silver Creek Cemetery. Visitation will held from 1:00 to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday at the Grayson Funeral Home, Charlestown and on Thursday after 9:00 A.M. until time of service at the Church. Expressions of Sympathy in memory of Mr. Couch may take the form of donations to the Speed Memorial Church.
